Sedation Dentistry

Comfortable Care. Anxiety-Free Visits. Dentistry Made Easy.

Relaxed, Stress-Free Dental Care

At Horton Family Dental, we understand that visiting the dentist can feel overwhelming for some patients. Sedation dentistry allows you to receive the care you need in a calm, relaxed, and comfortable state.

Whether you experience dental anxiety, have a strong gag reflex, or need more extensive treatment, our sedation options are designed to help you feel at ease throughout your visit.

What Is Sedation Dentistry?

Sedation dentistry uses safe, carefully controlled medication to help patients relax during dental procedures. You remain responsive, but deeply calm and free from fear or discomfort.

It is commonly recommended for patients who:

Experience dental anxiety or fear

Have difficulty sitting still for treatment

Require longer or more complex procedures

Have a sensitive gag reflex

Struggle with dental discomfort or past negative experiences

Dental sealants

Our goal is to make dental care accessible, comfortable, and stress-free for every patient.

Sedation Options We Offer

Comfort tailored to your needs and treatment plan.

Good oral health is closely connected to your overall health. Regular dental care helps:

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

A mild sedative inhaled through a small mask that helps you feel calm and relaxed. Effects wear off quickly, allowing you to return to normal activities soon after your visit.

Oral Sedation

A prescribed medication taken before your appointment to help you feel deeply relaxed and drowsy during treatment. Many patients remember little of the procedure afterward.

IV Sedation

A deeper form of sedation administered directly into the bloodstream for patients who need a higher level of relaxation or are undergoing more complex procedures.

We will help you choose the option that best fits your comfort level and treatment needs.

Is Sedation Dentistry Right for You?

We take a personalized approach to determine if sedation is appropriate for your care. During your consultation, we review your medical history, comfort level, and treatment plan to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Sedation may be recommended if you:

Avoid dental visits due to fear

Need extensive dental work

Have difficulty tolerating dental procedures
